What we believe

Simply teaching the Bible simply.

We hold to the historic Christian faith and the authority of Scripture. These are the core beliefs that shape our church.

Our convictions

Rooted in Scripture

We believe that the Bible is God's Word and our final authority for faith and practice. While we hold these convictions firmly, we extend grace and welcome to anyone who is exploring, questioning, or new to the faith.

01

The Scriptures

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. The Word of God is the foundation upon which the church operates and is governed.

(Isaiah 28:13; Nehemiah 8:8; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:3-4, 21)

02

The Trinity

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. This triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all things.

(Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:8, 48:16; Matthew 28:19-20; John 10:30; Hebrews 1:3)

03

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, though fully God, became a man for the suffering of death. He is the promised Messiah, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, provided atonement for our sins by His death on the cross, was bodily resurrected, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us.

(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-2, 8:58, 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 1:8; Revelation 1:8)

04

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers all who believe in Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer as an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of all biblical gifts according to Scripture.

(John 16:8-13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26; 1 Corinthians 12-14)

05

Salvation

We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice, falling short of God's standard. Yet God saves and gives new life to all who come to Him in repentance and faith, trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ. At the cross, Jesus died in our place, absorbing the judgment that should have come upon us. Salvation is a free gift of grace, found in Christ alone.

(John 3:16; Acts 3:19, 20:21; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 8-9; 1 John 2:2; Revelation 22:17)

06

The Church

We believe the church is the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel. The only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's agape love, which is greater than any difference we possess.

(Acts 2:46; Hebrews 10:25; Matthew 28:19-20)

07

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

(Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20-22)

08

Baptism and Communion

We practice believer's baptism by immersion as an outward declaration of an inward reality, and we regularly share communion together as a church family in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice.

(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38-41; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
